Town of Liberty
APRIL MONTHLY BOARD MEETING
Monday, April 10, 2017
The April meeting for the Town of Liberty was called to order by Bill at 7:08p.m. Attending from the Board were Bill Pitz, Pam Petersen, Cathy Wagner, Jim Krim, Dave Petersen and Joel Aulik. Also present Rick Krueger (Road Superintendent) and Gerald Lenz (Sanitary District Commissioner).
The pledge of allegiance was recited.
A motion was made by Joel and seconded by Jim to approve the agenda as presented.
A motion was made by Jim and seconded by Joel to approve the March Monthly Board Meeting minutes as presented.
A motion was made by Jim and seconded by Joel to approve the Treasurer’s Report with $152,262.98 in the checking and savings accounts and $40,188.35 in the Machinery Replacement Fund as of March 31, 2017 as presented.
Road & Machinery (Rick Krueger)
•Rick looked into purchasing vs leasing of the welding and gases tanks from AirGas. As the existing tanks become empty, a transition to the purchasing of tanks will be made.
•ATV and address markers have been ordered
•Plow trip springs were replaced on the 1995 Ford.
•A short oil change, because of new engine, was done on #5, 2000 International.
•Discussed salt order for next year. The order for the 2017-2018 season will be the same as it was for the 2016-2017 season; 150 tons (125 ton plus 25 ton reserve). Salt is currently full.
•Maintenance work will be done on 2 bridges.
•Pigeon Lake culvert repair will begin.
•A part-time worker will be hired to assist with ditching and road repair work.
•Rick will look into information for a saw to do cutting jobs on roadwork.
Public Input (Opened at 7:59p.m./closed at 8:20 p.m.)
•Water is flowing across a driveway. Rick will do some ditching to try to alleviate the problem.
•Dylan Hammel has filled in, on a part-time basis, at the recycling center. He does not wish to be on the regular schedule rotation. An ad to hire a regular scheduled worker will be run.
•An ad will be run for insurance proposals for the Town’s insurance coverages 2017-2018.
•A meeting will be scheduled with Building Inspector, Scott Beining, to discuss his contract and possible action.
•Certificate of Elections were issued and Oath of Office were completed for all elected positions from April 4th election.
•Annual audit for 2016 is complete with no major adjustments or issues. The Valders Journal is working on printing the final Annual Report.
Motion was made by Jim and seconded by Joel to approve and pay checks #18396 to #18430 in the amount of $13,311.56 and payroll transactions in the amount of $8,518.32.
Motion was made by Jim and seconded by Joel to adjourn the meeting 8:43 p.m.
