JULY MONTHLY BOARD MEETING
JULY 10, 2017
7:00 p.m.

The July meeting for the Town of Liberty was called to order by Bill Pitz at 7:03 p.m. Attending from the Board were Bill Pitz, Pam Petersen, Cathy Wagner, Jim Krim, Dave Petersen and Joel Aulik. Also present Rick Krueger (Road Superintendent).

The pledge of allegiance was recited.

A motion was made by Jim Krim and seconded by Joel Aulik to approve the agenda as presented.

A motion was made by Jim Krim and seconded by Joel Aulik to approve the June Monthly Board Meeting minutes as presented. A motion was made by Joel and seconded by Jim Krim to approve the June 20 Special Meeting Minutes as presented.

A motion was made by Jim Krim and seconded by Joel Aulik to approve the Treasurer’s Report with $ 104,774.24 in the checking and savings accounts and $ 40,228.44 in the Machinery Replacement Fund as of June 30, 2017 as presented.

Road & Machinery (Rick Krueger)

•Culvert work to be done at Pigeon Lake is currently at a standstill until the water level drops and slows down or a diversion channel is used.
•The first round of grass cutting has been completed. Weed control is now in process.
•Pine River Bridge has been sealed.
•Manitowoc County Highway Dept. is planning on starting their portion of the road work within the week.
•Wedging has been completed on Newton Road.

Public Input (Opened at 7:30 p.m./closed at 7:57 p.m.)

Public/Citizen Attendance: Dave Johnson, David Christel and Derek Pankratz

•David Christel presented a conditional use permit request for Sonnenburg Sonny’s Acres LLC, to build a two family residence, on a parcel located at South Shore Dr. The Town’s original review and approval with special considerations occurred in March of 2015 and was again reviewed and approved with the same special considerations.

Business

•Jim Krim made a motion to accept the contract received from Garrow Oil and Propane for the 2017-2018 heating season at $1.099/gallon. Joel Aulik seconded the motion, motion carried.
•Dave Christel and David Johnson were appointed to the town Plan Commission.
•The discontinuation of Crest Lane and East Viebahn Road has been resolved and ordered.
•Two applications were received for the Recycling Attendant positions. Joel Aulik made a motion to offer the position of Recycling Attendant to both applicants. Bill Pitz made a second to the motion. A vote of 2-0 in favor of offering both applicants each the position of Recycling Attendant. With Jim Krim voting present.

Motion was made by Jim Krim and seconded by Joel Aulik to approve and pay checks #18501to #18526 in the amount of $9,489.57 and payroll transactions in the amount of $7,347.26.

Motion was made by Jim Krim and seconded by Joel Aulik to adjourn the meeting 8:17 p.m.
